~*Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatch-Athon*~ all poultry welcome!

Okay, all- I'm here- trying to catch my breath!!

I haven't gone back to review what all has gone on since I was here last, but really quick: I have a couple dozen mixed eggs from a pen with:

1 Black tom, 1 Bronze/Red tom, 1 Royal Palm tom
1 Bourbon Red hen, 1 Bronze/Red hen, 1 Holland White hen

Anyone still need eggs?

I do, unfortunately! I tried talking to Jennifer (one of my hens) really nicely Sunday and fed her an apple by hand and she still hasn't gone back to laying! She doesn't like to be squeezed so I don't know what my next option is!!!

I'm in search of Narragansett eggs. I still bred some for the hatch. I hope I can get some sweetgrass eggs in time too from a local person, but so far I have none.

Me also! I really wanted only Narr eggs but they are not easy to find and my Narr girls are not cooperating. I love the Sweetgrass also. Originally I set out for one or the other, ended up with my Narr flock. I hope we can both find some soon!

I only have mutts with the potential for Sweetgrass...but it's only potential. I have 2 birds from last year's hatch that I thought were Red x Bronze...now that I'm looking at them closer, I think they may be Palm x Bronze...which may have the potential for 'Sweetgrass' or tri-color Calico. It wouldn't be true Sweetgrass because those were a broad-breasted type, and my Bronze was a Heritage not a Broad-breasted bird.

Anyway, that gives a bit more info...I need to get some pics.

I'm not sure how I'm going to load a zillion eggs into the incubator, but I suspect I will be...

I'd like to join. I have a incubator that should be empty this weekend. I won't have turkey eggs because my hen died on her nest. Its her eggs in the bator now.

Wish I had some turkey eggs, I'd join.. But alas, I don't even have any turkeys yet... Anyone have eggs that live close to York, PA?

I'm in that area and no luck locating a source nearby. I really don't want to buy shipped eggs since it's an added expense with lower hatch rates. I've been having bad luck with shipped eggs getting scrambled. I'm still looking though! Let me know if you find someone.
