Hmmm! I may try! I just got my first set of turkeys last year! The Tom got killed, & my hen started laying a few weeks ago, so I couldn't resist getting another Tom!! Lol He wasn't here 5 minutes before he did the deed. I stalked them and found her newest nest, an I'm leaving it alone so she won't move again, but its still below freezing here, so they won't be viable. She only has 3-4 in there now. Hopefully she will wind up with a few. I was thinking about tossing in some chicken eggs just to make her think she has a big enough clutch. Think that'll work??

Guess what I got today!!!!!!!!! My very first Turkey egg from my very first turkeys that I hatched during last years Cinco De Mayo!!!!!!!!!!! Woot Woot!!!!!! So...She is in with two toms, have never seen them do the deed, but I work during the day. Think it is fertile? How many will she lay? Tell me tell me...I am so excited. Can you tell????

they lay randomly at first then as spring progresses she will lay most everyday till she feels she has enough to hatch in her nest.

Are turkey eggs like Chicken eggs in that you can store for 7 days before incubating?

Well gonna be 15 degrees tonight, so I decided to raid my turkey's nest today. I'd seen her go and lay this morning, so maybe I can at least keep that egg viable. I replaced them with some chicken eggs that I don't plan to hatch anyway. It looks like she's laying about everyday now. Last 4 days I know, cause it had 2 last time I checked, & had 5 today. Guess I'll collect them each day until I see if she's gonna go broody, but its REALLY difficult! She made a very good nest. Lol

Well my chicken went broody too early, just this week actually. Going to try to break her bloodiness then encourage her in a few weeks.
