Would all of you who have eggs available please post details for those who are looking for eggs? I've directed inquiries from other hatchalong threads and fb here because there are so many inquiries about turkey eggs!

My 6 Bourbon Red hens have yet to give me eggs but Im hoping in the next 2 weeks Ill start seeing some. If after I do a test hatch and they are fertile I may be able to help someone out.

I have a trio of slates penned with a trio of palms. We had a discussion on thier color genetics a page or 2 back for anyone interested. I am checking fertility now.

Hmmm! I may try! I just got my first set of turkeys last year! The Tom got killed, & my hen started laying a few weeks ago, so I couldn't resist getting another Tom!! Lol He wasn't here 5 minutes before he did the deed. I stalked them and found her newest nest, an I'm leaving it alone so she won't move again, but its still below freezing here, so they won't be viable.

She only has 3-4 in there now. Hopefully she will wind up with a few. I was thinking about tossing in some chicken eggs just to make her think she has a big enough clutch. Think that'll work??

The eggs can be viable pretty much right up to freezing solid, I've found. So long as mine don't crack from the cold, they seem to incubate fine...mind you I'm talking about chicken eggs, because I've never had a turkey lay in the freezing weather...mainly because I've only had turkeys since we started this hatchathon annually!!

Hope my MWs start laying soon!

Welcome to all of you joiners! I'll try to collect the list of participants and add to it every few days, but if I neglect you feel free to pm me.

I'm going to go down to Wichita and pick up a Frank Reece BR tom from Chickendanz in a bit, and I'll be dropping off a Black/Palm tom from last year with a buyer. It's still too many toms, but they are docile enough and the girls let them know when enough is enough, so it's been okay. I'd really like to get some more RP and BR hens, but there are plenty of mouths to feed already...must stop collecting birds!!!

Ok Thanks! I've collected all of hers and have them in the house. I didn't throw any out just incase. Replaced with chicken eggs. And found another of hers yesterday, so looks like she didn't notice. Yay!

Its too hard!! I just started with 5 chickens last spring. Now I have 2 turkeys 8 chickens 6 more on the way and 29 eggs in the bator. Lol

Sure thing. I will have Narrangansett turkey eggs available as soon as the weather warms up and the girls lay regularly. I'm getting sporadic eggs right now but haven't been able to check fertility yet due to the frigid temps and eggs freezing

Y'all are KILLING me ALREADY!! You do know it is still over a month till the first set date, right? I PMed Chooks a day or so ago and asked if she was planning to run this hatch again. She said it is already up and running! I get here and I am 9 pages late!! Dang, y'all DO need straight-jackets! LOL!

I am happy to see all the old familiar faces (avatars) and some brand new ones, too!

I got a GQF Sportsman for Christmas and have been busy getting the "stuff every egg you can find into the incubator" out of my system and have just begun to regain my composure and actually plan hatches. The curious thing is that without advertising, I have sold over $200 worth of chickens in the past three weeks! Cool, huh? Especially considering that the only reason I got it was to hatch my Heritage Silver Campine breeder project chicks.

I will have eggs to sell/trade. I have a nice trio of breeder quality Black Orpingtons, and will be setting up a breeding pen of Black Copper Marans as soon as I can find a place for them. I also have some EEs but I think I will be hatching all of those I get.

At any rate, I'M HERE!! Where's my SJ? I think I put it in the hall closet..........

I'm about ready to start prowling through the farm yard looking for hidden eggs from those big girls...but it's too cold to do so, and I'm to stay on my bum for the rest of the week, so I can't. BUT...I should be figuring out what SJ I'll have this year.

I'm thinking I'll have black faux fur in the 4" curly like my goat fur boots, with a turtleneck and silver buttons down the back. Perhaps I'll go for a fully skirted jacket this year with a train I can coil up on myself for the colder temps. It's just bitter!! I can't hack any more of this!
