I see so many great pics of all the different colored varieties, it makes me want to try other colors lol.

I only have room for my Bourbons though.

I want to join. I have a few Turkeys on order, and won't have eggs from them, but I think I can get a few around here. My first ever batch of chickens is in the incubator right now. Thanks for the chart for the eggs, it is very helpful.

It seems like BR are a good standard breed. Question, do turkey people tend to have one breed or several, like chicken people? Do you keep them in a separate pen, or in the same pen as your chickens?

Not the best pictures (wish the weather was nicer) but here are some of my babies.

Love the pics-- Narri are interesting: all that silvery gray-black feathering.

I'm no expert but have had turkeys for several years. I started with BR then added an order from Porters. so here is my 2 cents.

--- stay with one breed

I have BR and will keep them because they a re popular, but other breeds need help too bringing up the numbers. What did you order and from who???

I ordered blue slates from Cackle because they are close. I split an order with a sweet older lady at the coop for the broad breasted bronze (she couldn't take the 6 minimum) and I ordered sweetgrass eggs from a local person for when they start laying. She had Narragansrtt too, that I'm thinking about. I want to see which I like better, the slate or the Narragansett. I'm sure I will keep the sweetgrass, they are beautiful.

I was at the feed store and they had Bronzes on sale AND they looked about 2 weeks old. It was very difficult to control my poultry buying urges.
