LOL

That sounds serious. Why is it too late for turkey eggs?

It's not, they will just hatch late. This HAL is very flexible on dates, so give that girl her eggs!!!

Lol well, idk about today cause I haven't had time to watch her. But she still hadn't set a full day as of yesterday. I don't wanna give them too her too soon and her not be ready yet.

I don't know if I would want to hear my nickname.

DH calls me the crazy chicken lady.

That's what I am called too! But I don't mind. My bf's brother even made me this sign that I have hung on my front storm door. He just printed it out and lamented it. Someday I'll have a metal one that I can post at the end of my driveway!

I am heading south 2 hours tomorrow to pick up a silkie who is not only lovely but is rumored to be BROODY!!!!!!!!!!!! If this is true and remains true I will be able to play along with this HAL properly and not just as a lookie loo hanger on wanna be. YAY!!!!!!!

Oh happy Day!!!!! I

I just set my eggs. took forever because I had to rearrange all the eggs in my bator. I took the auto turner out, marked all the eggs a certain color according to what eggs are due to hatch what day(I stagger hatches) mared an X and an O on each egg and then played egg tetris lol.

I set 24 BR turkey eggs and 24 chicken eggs(they are a week early I know).

I now have a total of 76 eggs in a bator meant for 42

I have never done that before. Im REALLY nervous about this.

these are the eggs I set for this hatch

and this is my incubator fully loaded

It's okay! My styro looked like that at the start of the Easter HAL - ('cept no pretty dark brown ones

) Then a dozen came out for lockdown in another 'bator, and voila! Nice tidy single layer, and only pulled one at first candling, so it MUST be okay!

My Turkeys will be early (if...

) but I have incubator space to set chickens on the 14th... that's only six days, I can probably wait that long... maybe... so I guess consider me 'in'?

Turkey has been sitting on non fertile eggs for a few days, most of the time, but those eggs had been in there a good 3-4 weeks just to keep her laying there. So, figured if I didn't take them out, my luck one would explode in there just when I'm ready to give her good ones. So I finally remembered to buy plastic Easter eggs today, & switched them out. She was NOT happy about it!! Guess I should have waited til she was out. She pecked at them really hard! So, idk if its going to work or not. Now I'm really worried about giving her new real eggs that r fertile. I'm afraid she's going to peck and break them! Any way to prevent that?
