~*Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatch-Athon*~ all poultry welcome!

Aiyeeeeeee!!!

Of course you'll still be joining us! Nothing says your incubator needs to be electrical!! :lau

Excellent choice! Just remember it will REALLY hurt to take off when the month is over unless you line it. Just sayin'!

Lol. Well I meant because my hatch will be so early. But I'm so excited, since she's my 1st broody any kind of bird, that I wanted her to hatch sooner so I could watch her raise her babies. Lol.

Tell me,

What type of jacket should I have?

I not only fiddle with my eggs, I talk to them, I sing to them, I dance in the room with them!
Heck I even swear at them and sometimes I even draw silly faces on them!
So as you can see its not just my hands that are way way WAHHHHWAY too free!

I drew faces of one of my egg customers eggs (1 dozen) He told me he felt strange eating the little guys . He is a 85 years old farmer (retired) I promised not to do that again. I sold him some reg plain eggs last time. he asked me where the cute eggs were They made him smile in his old age. LOL So next eggs get funny faces. I'll give him a chuckle each morning....with his coffee...

Well, we have figured out the hard decision and I guess technically, I won't be joining you all this year. But I wanted to let u all know!

My turkey hen is ready!!!! She's set well over 24 hrs, with some sort of break I'm sure although I haven't seen her out. Checked on her earlier to see if she was still laying & she has plucked her belly clean!!!!! Gonna set the eggs tonight when I have extra hands available!!!! Giving her 8 of her own and 7 Buff Orp eggs, that have all been incubated and are all due to hatch on the 25th! I will take the chicks when they hatch to sell, but leave her poults with her to raise. (BTW. No issues with blackhead in my county!) SOOOO excited!!
You do know that hen or incubator counts, just like ChooksChick mentioned, and any time set in the ball park is good. Sure hope you'll join in . Do you need a straight jacket??

If we're wearing straight jackets, im making mine outta duct tape. Its the only thing that works good around here.

I sometimes put feathers in the carton, especially when I had guineas, I just love those polka dotted feathers. I often pick up small soft, clean feathers (pretty) and put them in a bowl on one of my side tables. When I have eggs for a special customer or friend, I add three or four feathers to the top of the eggs.
