~*Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatch-Athon*~ all poultry welcome!

Quote: The parents were the issue, and the crackhead babysitter they had watching them. I can't even count the number of times I walked over there looking for an adult to corral the monsters or get the 4 yr old off the Headstart bus & everyone was passed out or too high to comprehend there was an issue they needed to deal with. These kids were 4 & 5 years old left to fend for themselves.

Definitely use combination locks when possible. Totally avoids lost keys. Just make sure you keep lists of the combinations for each lock in several different places in case you lose a list.

Question you'll, these little eggs, that currently look clear to my very old eyes, but are not 7 days until Friday or Sat. Morning...so might not be clear......

Anyway... To me they look like potential explosions....

They have little bits of that yellow oozing out of the shell, some more than others. But MAN, that is almost all of the eggs in that batch of shipped (only one of which could I see veins of I think 12 total)

Here are pictures...... Am I really this unlucky?

In the second picture, the spots are small, but lots of them. Please open it up to the larger size and tell me what you think.

These look like they were old before shipping or got too hot at some point (the most common causes of leaking from the pores early in incubation). If they are already leaking, I would pull them. I have never had a leaker develop into a chick. I have had them leak their goo all over other eggs & my bator though.

I know when crossing slate & palm that when the babies are bred together or back to palm you get the blue & lavender palms. I was just wondering if the red worked the same way.
Interesting. Well….I'll find out as they grow I guess. I do have one who might be a blue palm. I did have a Blue Slate tom but he was submissive to the other two toms and I never saw him mate the hens. I sold him quite a few weeks ago, though the timing is possible he could have mated a hen and she would have laid an egg fertilized by him before he left. I am half thinking one of them must have been fertilized by him as it looks so different from the others.

It is the one in the center, towards the front. Looks gray with a yellow head but the gray is more of a bluish color. The rest of the RP/BR poults look like the one sitting in the very front. (The black ones are some Black Spanish from eggs I purchased, and the orange chicks are the NH tutors). That little bluish one is the only one that looks like that so I'm keeping it to raise and see how it turns out. I've had an amazing amount of interest in these poults. Last year I couldn't sell purebred RP poults to save myself and wound up raising them all. This year the mixed poults are going like hot cakes. Two of these went to their new home this morning and the rest are being picked up tomorrow. I was going to raise them for meat but will have to wait until the next hatch now.

man that really suck i just asked grandma she said that oozing eggs means that they are rotted inside she side she wouldn't even want to cook those up to give them to the chickens. But you need to crack one open to see. and get on that seller for selling you bad eggs!!

@SilkieSensation

So, you think from the pictures that those are ooze spots?

I guess I am just super hoping that I am wrong, but at the same time, I do NOT want to risk my other eggs!

Should I toss all of the eggs from that shipment? More than half have at least some spots..... And that makes me panic.

Like I said, only one had clear veins.

Quote: If it's a blue slate/royal palm cross it will be a blue mottled (look like a slate with some white in the feather tips). If you breed it back to a palm or another mottled you will get the blue & lavender palms. I have a blue slate tom in with blue slate & royal palm hens, so I'm on the 1st generation of this color project. Next year will be when I see the blue & lav palms.

My dad was belts & switches. I use a bare hand on a bare butt. If my hand is stinging I know their hiney is too.
