I knew i would have to deal with predators everntually. I just thought this one was more secure than it was. but my regular brooder was there too so apparently that one is proofed okay. thank god. i have 21 in that one and 16 in another one.
On a happier note, my 16 juveniles spent their first night in the outdoor brooder with no heat lamp! no one had any issues. some even slept on the roosts in the brooder!
Jenna lynn-- soory for your loss. My cats are the opposite-- if the mouse is in the house, then it gets to live here; outside, that is fari game. My dogs were generally the same: in the house the chickens are save, the cats are safe, but in the dog pen-- fair game. Never lost a cat, but occassionally lost a chicken. lol
Sorry -- hope the kitty had a good meal. HOmegrown chicken. lol
Its okay. I hate that stupid cat though. Sometimes I seriously debate on shooting it. MY cats are good.Aww darn yeah them felines are opportunists sorry for your loss![]()
There are 3 that are 4 weeks old and the other 13 are 5 weeks old. They basically took themselves off the light and they were inside without heat for a week or so then went outside without heat to see how they would do.woot how old where they
MY cats are good. Its the neigbors stpid cat. They were all in outdoor brooders. But apparently I didnt secure that one good enough. I still don't know how it got in but the only animal ever around is that cat so I know that was what got it. As said above, I seriously debate on shooting it every time it makes its furry way over here. The day it takes out one of my big chickens, my dogs will have a good meal of fresh kitty.Jenna lynn-- soory for your loss.
