The keet is about four days old in this picture and this was the very first time the rescued keet did the "dead" look with me. It just collapsed in a sunny spot next to my leg and took a nap! I had never seen a bird sleep spead out flat before (I am use to other more nest bound baby garden birds) so it came as a little bit of a shock to me.

This reminds me of how young black skimmers ( beach bird) like to sleep! I don’t have any pics but you should just look up sleeping juvenile skimmer, they look very dead

That one looks like she needs a poke. The one leg sticking out is a nice touch.

Failure to thrive. I had two that just never got bigger than bantam size. Chippy was smaller than my bantam cochin girls. She almost lived to two years old, so I felt blessed to have her that long. D'Barge is full sized and healthy. Of the other two that I had, Barbie was very small and lived around 18mo, Floppy Faye was a little larger and lived to be a little over two.

Im sorry I hope my girl grows big and strong but I’ll keep a close eye on her!

My very first time having chickens, one of them did this and I got so scared and thought she was dead!!!! Ran out there freaking out LOL hint: she was NOT dead.

I wouldn't worry too much. My first two were from a "breeder" that didn't put much effort into selecting the best parents. The second two were from Hoovers by way of tractor supply. I'm sure your's will be fine.
