Apparently right in front of the coop door was the perfect place to catch some sunshine. There's 5 birds in this picture but it's hard to tell with them in such a pile lol.

Chicken piles are the strangest concept.
I will be hauling electrolyte water in 100 degree temperatures, worrying that my hens are overheated, and I look around and there they are; a dozen piled up in direct sun.

Our hens sleep in a big pile in the pine shavings. They grew up together and have slept that way ever since they were chicks. They've always had roosts available but they hardly ever use them. Chickens are weird.
