Kelly, I can't remember your black hen's name, but she needs a guard rail..she looks like she's going to get shoved off the "mattress" any minute.
Dorothy - I love how she has her head propped up on the door 🤭 she is also half laying on a brick paver that is on the floor by the door.

It’s hilarious the places the choose to sun bathe.

I didn't get a picture, but my chicks nearly gave me a heart attack in their first 24 hours outside. I had just put them outside in their new run the day before. I got them settled hung out while they got comfortable, a few hours later after everyone looked happy I went inside.

The next morning I go out to the run to check on everyone. One chick dropped right in front of me, flopped to the side and just laid there . . I went to touch it and it didn't move, this particular chick isn't keen on being handled so I was thinking it just croaked right there . . at my feet . . . then I here a strange "croaking" noise . . . holy crap it's dying . . .I killed my chicken . . .

Then another one, same thing, dropped to the ground flopped over and laid there . . . .then they both start thrashing around and croaking . . . what is going on, why are they just dying . . .

Stunned and not knowing to do I pick up the first chick to check it for injures . . . . a third chick dropped in the same spot . . .

I should mention these are my first chickens . . .and I only had 4 at this point . . . so I'm thinking they're dropping like flies and I have one left . .

I finish checking over the first chick, who wasn't happy about being handled, but it didn't have any injures and it walks off . . . uh ok . . .

I look at the other two still thrashing around in the dirt and realize they're DUST BATHING . . .

Friggin' weirdo chickens:barnie
