This chicken is not dead

Reminds me of my sweet cat giving the chickens grapes many years ago...

Barney recently died @ almost 19 years of age.

I had three buff orps at the time and during winter they didn't spend much time outdoors in the dead of winter so I'd let them into my hubby's shop for a couple hours to hang out, the two cats as well. Anyway I went in the house and grabbed a handful of grapes to take out for the hens, gave them each one and set the rest on a lawn chair. Barney was watching them eat the grapes, then he jumped onto the chair and with a paw pushed a grape onto the floor and saw the chickens run to it and gobble it down, so he did it again and again until all the grapes were gone. ❤️
Awww! 🥰
That’s so sweet!

I am so sorry for your loss of Barney. After 19 years, he must have left a big hole in your heart when he passed on.

Genuinely thought that pullet from my last few posts was dead this morning. Found her fully sparko in her favourite spot; a bigger, more senior pullet went over to evict her and she just lay there like a dead thing. Took a load of pecks and eventually a kick or two to get her to even lift her head. (She's fine.)

"Don't wanna, ain't gonna, can't make me"
Kick!
"Well, if you're gonna be that way about it, I'll move!"
