This Cockerel is gonna be the death of me! Injured Wattle now :(

So I don’t know how many of you saw my previous post regarding this cockerels leg injury, I’ve had great success healing him up from that and when I brought him inside tonight to change his bandages and check the wound I see this

Is there anything I can do to help him or is this just something that will sort itself out? I suspect our other (same age but much larger) cockerel has done it but I can’t be sure.

Additionally, not that it’s overly important but how does this affect him if I were to show him in the future? My son wants to put his chooks in the town show and I’m now worried that he won’t be able to enter this silly boy.

It should be fine, will probably drop off though. I can’t tell from the picture, but I think it will only affect his showing if it’s obviously misshapen, if it heals over and looks pretty much normal, than I wouldn’t worry.

He should be okay. I have had many similar things, they dropped off and healed up well.

Just make sure it stays clean (it looks like it has already started to scab over quite a bit) and otherwise it should be fine.

I don’t see a reason he can’t still be showed.
