Hello!
I am about to do a final purging of roosters; I already got rid of nine, and have two more lined up to leave. But I want to make sure I'm getting rid of ALL the roosters this time.
I am pretty certain this barred rock is a pullet, but again, I'm just making sure. She came from a pullet bin, which helps me think she's actually a girl. However, she is very bossy, but I'm thinking that's because she is only one of three standard sized chickens (the other 10 are bantams). She likes to fluff her wings and chase the little ones around only when meal worms are present. (I don't know the barred rock breed very well, so the bossiness might just be her personality, especially since she's coming to the age of broodiness and (hopefully) laying eggs?
)
She is approximately 18-19 weeks old. Haven't heard any crowing from her and I can't see any rooster saddle or hackle feathers, but the bossiness makes me wonder.
Thanks for your guesses! And let's hope it's actually a girl!
