She said they found them as a chick by the animal shelter over the summer. I don’t know what her definition of chick is. So all I can really say is that he is under a year and he started crowing within the last month.
Okay, so he's probably around seven months, give or take. I think he would be okay to put in with the rest of the flock now, but it also wouldn't hurt to wait, either. You'll have to decide based on your knowledge of the personalities of your hens and the layout of the coop.

You could also start slow and put a hen in with him for a while to see what happens. But he looks healthy and well able to care for himself, so I don't think you'll have many problems. If you do, BYC is always open!
