I'm not sure how you would communicate his passing to Daisy. I know they understand death when they are nearby when it happens. Many years ago my Bridget had surgery and because she was older my vet warned that her kidneys might fail. I brought her home and she slept in my bedroom that night. The next morning she was deep asleep and I couldn't wake her. My husband went into the kitchen to call our vet. ( I didn't want her to overhear that we were worried about her). Sounds silly now. Anyway she picked her head up, looked at me and let out a long breath and she was gone. She didn't whine or cry, just let out that last long breath and my dogs in the kitchen all let out a long howl at the same time. My neighbors dog howled at the same time. It was eerie. And something I will never forget.
Again, I'm sorry for your loss.
