I asked about the legs because I am wondering if she is a cuckoo marans with the leg color not being yellow.

Clara is a Cuckoo Marans and a French Marans, too, because she has feathers on her legs. Pretty girls!

Cuckoo must be what we call "koekoek". She's not a maran though. This is a belgian breed. If my translation is correct 'Cuckoo from Mechelen". Mechelen is a city in Belgium where this breeds comes from. (typical are the white legs with little feather on them)

What color eggs does she lay? I've never heard of a breed other than the French Marans that looked like that with feathered legs. Here is a link to some Marans Eggs from Belgium. Are hers anything like that?

As you can see... we all like to sit and watch our "Children" . I personally like to sit on the feeder I built by the coop. I have 4 Pearl white Leghorns that will come sit on my lap while I'm visiting. (They are still young... about 12 weeks old.)
