Ducklings don't need to be as warm as Chicks and I only heat part of the Brooder. I never set a temperature. I watch how my Ducklings are acting and go from their behaviour.
How exciting..:frow..I have Calls due myself today so should have Ducklings here by Monday..:wee
Best wishes..:jumpy
That's reassuring, thanks! I am going to brood chicks with them, but I think I'll lower the lamp a bit, watch them and see how they behave and let them snuggle for warmth.

Well. I wouldn't Brood Chicks and Ducklings together. Ducklings cause too much wetness and noodle each other lots.

You’ll def want to have one end nice an toasty ducklings and chicks brooded together isn’t always the best situation ducklings are so messy and get everything wet including chicks lol getting the end that doesn’t have feed and water nice and warm will help the chicks.

That's how I have it set up. The heat is on one end and the kitchen the other.

It's lunch time here now, so the farm store is closed. I'll go see if they have a higher wattage bulb when they open.

I used the one bulb before and don't recall having to hang it so low to heat the brooder  I'm wondering if I should use both and lower one for the chicks.
