This One's Confusing Me...

Oh no, it's practically tied.

Since it's very docile, at least I know I can keep it without any problems for whatever it is. And yes Muggsmagee, that's what I worried about too, so I'm hanging on to any bit of hope.

I am sorry but I agree with the cockerel vote. I raised 7 cockerels - very close in age - and some got their saddle/hackle feathers a bit later than the others. Those shiny feathers are saddle and hackle feathers.

definitely hen...i'd say she is about to lay. i am not a BO expert, but as far as my experience goes, by the time roos are that age they have a very roo-ish demeanor. by that i mean more aggressive, more upright posture....
this one is shaped like a hen, and when hens are about to lay, their combs and wattles become red. all my hens have bright red ones. keep us updated!

She's three months, she can't possibly lay yet? Or can she? I've heard of one chicken that layed an egg at that age, but it wasn't an Orpington.

I've never heard it crow like the others, would a video possibly straighten things out with walking and all. Looking at it kinda now makes me think roo... I hope the minority of you guys are correct though.

In October is when I 'scheduled' my chickens to lay eggs, so we'll see.
