I highly suggest that you rid your house of white flour, rice, sugar, soy (except for fermented soy sauce) and all things containing high fructose corn syrup.
Often time cholesterol numbers are high because of mold, yeasts, or fungus issues.
I would greatly suggest that you do a Mold Detox Diet. Basically that means cutting about the above things and also corn, peanuts, and mushrooms. You want to get rid of all of the aflatoxins in your diet.
You can eat
all the eggs you want,
all clean meats...meaning ones that don't harbor bacterias and parasites in their flesh (pork is out...no matter how you cook it you can't kill the parasites). Pasture fed and organic is the way to go.
Kill the grains for the 1st month
Green apples and citrus fruits, especially grapefruit
Lots of veggies, especially broccoli
All nuts, except peanuts, raw is best

To help kill off molds/fungus/yeasts take
Graviola tincture 30 drops, 2 times daily or Neem 1-4 caps per day (Neem is very strong and we had to start w/graviola)
To help balance the cholesterol take
Olive Leaf capsules, 3 caps, twice daily
I wanted to tell your wife about this after I read how bad her breathing is. I suffered from severe asthma for most of my life. All I was told by the docs was drugs, drugs, drugs.
