I suspect theyd own more of their own medical equipment (sutures, tubes etc).

SO said freya was miserable and whining all night and she looked in pain when I woke up enough that SO called the vet to request more pain meds... which we havent picked up yet so she hasnt had them... but I got her to eat and drink and now shes walking around like shes in normal pain. idk what changed.
Because she was resting it and it’s more sore when it’s not in motion or being used. Especially if they try to move after resting.

Usually they say to crate a dog so they’re at full rest and not up and down. Popping sutures is not fun and is more traumatizing for an animal since they have to get repaired again.

Sometimes dogs whine and it's less about the pain than it is about the anxiety because they don't really understand what has happened to them. They just don't feel right and they don't really understand why. If she's eating and drinking and moving around some, then that's all good. Lot's of attention and love helps. I've written off 2020 as just a plain miserable mess of a year. Hoping 2021 is better for everyone. I lost a dog to cancer mid lock down this year. Any kind of appointment, human or animal, has been a challenge. Hope your dog recovers fully. :hugs

Did they give you any physical therapy or stretches to do to prevent super soreness?
No, we are going back on Monday to have the drain taken out & then in 13 more days to have the sutures removed. (by which I mean, they may tell us Monday to start doing something idk)

She is mostly not moving around. She'll walk somewhere and stay there for awhile. I had her food on the floor so she could eat it laying down but she wanted to stand up so I elevated it instead of she isnt reaching down.

freya is still doing well. shes got more pep in her step, though she is definitely mostly resting. shes being so good. I've given her cheese with the pills and chicken broth on her food, but her poop was normal so yaaay I'm not screwing her insides up too much.

last night she wanted to sleep on my bed and I had to say no :(

her drain is dripping significantly less than the first day.
