Mama's babies are three weeks old now.

Thor, Jr. (TJ). I think she (?

) will be a beautiful hen someday. She definitely inherited her dad's heavy foot feathering.

Cash. There's no doubt about his gender, whatsoever.

Shhh, don't say anything but....

Thor, Sr. is getting older and his fertility is going down. Hopefully everyone will mind their Ps and Qs, otherwise, there may a choice to to make.

They are all precious. I especially like the one of Mama with chick Rowdy. I don't understand how chickens with feet feathering manage to keep from having all kinds of gunk "boots". I guess they just spend a ton of time grooming their leg feathers? They are very pretty, but it just looks so inconvenient!!

My brahmas are nearly three years old now and they've never had a problem with their feet getting excessively dirty. My birds free range and we have a fifth season of the year known as mud season.

Here's a pic of TJ's dad when he was a chick, along with another dark brahma. See what I mean about the heavy foot feathering?
