Thoroughly Annoying Phone Scam!

We are on the DNC registry and get that call constantly. I have reported them numerous times. On one occasion when they had woken me up I was a little irate, and hung on to speak to a representative. I told him what for, and he remained silent until I stopped talking, then went straight into his sales pitch

The ironic thing is that I don't even have a vehicle registered to me right now.

* Don't think this is a service switch-- 'Just'(!) a cash and maybe info stealing scam. A lot of people just hang up, I imagine. I think that from now on I will tell them the number will be reported to the FTC. Wish I could get a machine that would tell them and report it for me!

I knew there is a reson why i dont have a landline anymore. i do all cell and had two advertising texts in five years. i suggest not to answer unknown calls anymore, check your caller Id and go to this web site for more info, just type in the number in question.

* Conny - DH and I have had cells exclusively for over 5 years--no landlines at all. However, cell numbers were made public just a few months ago, and since then, we have had to deal with these stupid calls.

I received a call from Elvis the other day. He was singing Viva Las Vegas then told me for English press one or for Spanish press numero dose. I pressed 1 so I could yell at someone for calling cause were on the do not call list. The gal actually got mad at ME for calling and wasting her time (since i obviously had no intention of purchasing a tour package to Vegas)! Elvis was some sort of auto dialing program and by pressing a number it dialed them for me so they didn't violate the do not call they tricked me into doing it for them.

OMG, my DH got a call from someone about a car repair, they did not even know what vehicle we had, I should have known it was a scam!! $2000 to take care of it!
We were doubly skammed! We use pay as you go phones because we don't use the cell phones that much. My DH was on the phone as I shopped for a long time! Now we know it was a scam! Of course we did not take them up on the offer, but it is so awful!
