Back in the eighties I had a bunch of chicks in a cage brooder. I went out to feed one day and reached in and got the feeder, filled it and then went to replace it when I finally saw a king snake.

It had eaten at least half a dozen of the chicks and could not get out of the cage.

What's you guys problem with snakes? We train ours. In addition to mice hunting duties they assist in setting/incubation.

...of course if you do not keep them in mice, they show their displeasure with the consumption of an egg or two...
