You know I really do want Thor to be male, but four of those primary feathers and hen browm, not male orange.

This is the wing of my coming two year old hen Green Pea.

This is the wing of one of my August babies, he's a boy.

I know he has 4 brown hen primaries. Those feathers are new feathers, I don't know why but he is the first peachick that I've seen where new feathers look like a hen and 2 to 3 weeks later they are all male again. When I sexed them all male primaries. I find feathers on the ground ,feathers in his wing missing, new feathers in that look like a peahen I get paranoid I keep thinking, great I got two females then when I see his wings 2 to 3 weeks later all male I'm relieved. Not sure why he has been loosing feathers and it's not a lot. Just like 2 to 5 wing feathers. I find feathers all the time may it be my ducks, peafowl, or chickens. I've dusted them and the nests. I think he doesn't take care of them or the chicken wire tears them out because I have loose chicken wire that sticks into my chicken coop and they take dust bathes right up against it if it's dry. Calypso's wings are torn up and Thor and Calypso never fight. When I stuck them together they ran together and layed down right next to each other and they groom each other. I've only seen that with male and female. Jadea comes outside and watches Calypso like a hawk while Colbolt watches Thor like a hawk. Not as much now as they did when they were right across from each other. Jadea still watches them though like a hawk. Every time I'm out working with Calypso and Thor there's Jadea watching Calypso.

I see 5 female feathers with the male and two male feathers on the female. The feather seem like if they are new feathers. I monitor Thor's and Calypso's wing feathers. Both of them when there are new feathers they are opposite sex then when they get older they correct themselves.

My hen has already molted at least once already, so I'm guessing that's her permanent color.

That is new to me. Thor and Calypso are that way. I've seen BS peahens have primaries that look like males but are dark brown almost black on the shaft of the feathers. Now if the females primary feathers on the male were to be permanent like that then I don't know why they would be like that.

These pictures scream PEAHEN! Like I said before, peachicks go through many molts, and Thor is now at a stage where she has her adult plumage. If you compare Thor's back and Calypso's back, they are the same. Many of us giving you advice have raised plenty of peachicks, and we know this is a peahen. I used avianbiotech for DNA sexing. But you should not DNA sex Thor since it is a peahen. Do you want more comparison pictures?

Thor is still molting. With each new feather he's getting more and more barring. His primaries have been changing, The person I bought Thor and Calypso from, his parents who have been raising peafowl for more than 24 years agrees with me and says I got a breeding pair. Another person I know who has raised them for 20 years agrees with me as well. I know it for a fact that Thor is a male I trust these people and my gut. Calypso in every photo that is on here has not as much barring as Thor. They are different. Thor has male primaries and some female primaries while Calypso has no male primaries. Calypso has a small thin breast, short thick neck, Thor has a fat breast and long skinny neck. Thor's legs are longer than Calypso's. I got 4 reasons why Thor is a male and Calypso is a female. I want you to tell me why you think Thor is a female.

6 female feathers on his wing, 6 days ago.

3 female wing feathers, today.
Like I said his feathers are turning from female to male.
