Those who need help in sexing peafowl

I know that Thor does have the white edging like a peahen. Remember one thing to have a peafowl that matures fast you must also have a peafowl that matures slow as well. Thor may be a late bloomer just like Colbolt and Jadea. Colbolt had a barred train that barely had a few feathers that were solid when he was 2 years and 10 months old. Colbolt is 3 years and 3 months and now he has a train that has a lot of eyes. Colbolt didn't have a solid blue breast until he was 2 years and 10 months. That is late for a peacock. Most peacocks have a solid blue breast when they are just over 2 years old not when they are almost 3 years old. I would do a DNA test on Thor but my dad won't let me. I guess we'll have to wait until summer at least. Might be for sure in a few months like January or February. I'm pretty sure that peahens don't have barred feathers scattered across their shoulders.
My youngest males, which hatched in September, have way less white edging than Thor. I'll get a picture of their breasts, backs and wings.

You can't sex them when they are young by barring. That peachick might be a late bloomer like Thor. You can see some barring now appearing with Thor but not much. Barring can change from when they hatch to when they are 6 to 8 months old. 9 months is rare.

That is very interesting...peahens can grow a peacock's plumage, train and all due to something like ovary damage.

It is fun watching your peafowl grow, but then once you get attached and have to sell them it is much harder.

I will still get the pictures to compare hopefully tomorrow. One thing you never provide as evidence is behavior. With the pictures of my IB peacock that the peahen hatched, the two IB boys were always displaying to their siblings, and they were a bit more bossy.

Like I said before some mature faster than others. I'm sure that just about everybody posting that has IB peacocks there peacocks had a solid blue breast by the time the peacock was 2 years to 2 years and 5 months. Maybe sooner or maybe a little later. I highly doubt that most of you guys have IB peacocks that get a solid blue breast when they are 2 months away from being 3 years old.

Thor I bought when he was 5 weeks old, then I bought Calypso when she was 2 weeks old and those two didn't know each other existed until Thor was 4 months and Calypso was 3 and a half months old. Colbolt and Jadea I got as yearlings. Though I can tell you now that both pairs do the same. Groom each other, perch together, take dust bathes together, drink together and eat together. It seems as if it came out of a fairy tale but it's the truth.

I'm pretty sure I couldn't get this pictures if they hated each other

They are a year and 4 months old in all of these photos they were

Now they are a year and 8 months

I can sex them very early by barring alone, but I had 32 this year to practice on.
