Those who need help in sexing peafowl

Now you know why I said you can't trust barring. Those are beautiful. Those aren't from the secondary feathers then if those feathers are from the same place on an IB male. That's on what is called the wing covert. Or it would be in the area known as false primaries. I know my feathers names because I've showed and judged poultry before.

I would have to disagree and say you can trust the barring. You just have to know which feathers to look for it on and which not to. Personally though, I have found that the cream/white edged breast feathers are more reliable. And I will still have to cast my vote toward Thor being a hen because of those breast feathers. I have simply not seen a male with feathers like that in the 19 years I've had Peas.

I looked at my wing from poultry judging and showing and the only parts of feather are Front which is the top feathers closest to the body, bow and bow which are the secondary coverts and would be the Marginal as well as the secondary coverts are the bow as well. Then the Secondary feathers, then there is the Bar AKA False Primary feathers, then the primary feathers and then primary coverts which include primary wing coverts and alula, then the Wing shoulder which is under the Front.

You lost me???

I know. Just about everybody here has said that. I reply with Thor turning white and they say impossible though I've been measuring the white over a week. When I first measured it 1.75 inches and now 2.25 inches.

You're not the only one, but I'm easily lost these days, lol.

So which ones do you think they are Kathy? Marginal or secondary coverts maybe? This is the best pic I have that shows them, BS males obviously have them as well as IBs.
One of the two,

. To be honest, I never paid attention to the different wing feathers, so I'd have to examine a wing stretched out like the diagram. You should also know that I've only ever seen IB peafowl in person.

Then why don't you show us a new picture?
