I think I've basically made my decision of which two Cockerels I am keeping, but wanted to see if anyone can see something I might be missing? They all hatched in November. The plan is to keep two, preferably one gold and one silver.
I am going to start with my favourite, he has been my favourite for a long time. He is the biggest of all of them and I like that. My only issue is  sometimes he looks like he has a crooked tail?

This is the other gold cockerel. I seriously don't like anything about him. He's small and scraggly, he holds his wings oddly and his tail looks 10x worse.

This is the silver I am leaning towards. He's the smaller of the two silvers but otherwise is nice.

This is the bigger silver. My main thing is the brown leakage (if that's what it is called) on his wing tips.

So I am I picking the better ones if I keep the first gold and the first silver? I know these birds won't meet SOPs or anything but I want the closest I can get. They're for a project so the quality will go down hill to begin with anyway, I plan to bring in some better quality ones later on.

I'm not sure what it is you want people to comment on.
You say SOP isn't important and you've written your preference quite clearly.

Yeah, sorry. Guess I am wanting confirmation they're a good choice? Is it bad that the gold might have a bit of a wry tail? Would it be wiser to try and get a better rooster elsewhere?
I have written my preferences, but if there's a better choice I am willing to change :)

Does the other cockerel have a wry tail too?
The first cockerel seems to hold his wings too low, maybe you should get a better one, idk.
The silver pick is good. The red coloring on the other is known as autosomal red.

I am having a hard time telling if any have wry tail. Sometimes I think they do sometimes I don't. I've had the same with some of the gold pullets, I don't think I've noticed it with any of the silvers.

Should I try letting him grow out a bit more before deciding?
What kind of project are they for?
I guess I have a couple plans for them. I would like to eventually have SOPs Barnevelder, as I would like dual purpose not just a pretty layer. And my project is frizzled barnevelders, but maybe I'll have a play with some other colours too. I saw a breeder online with some extremely beautiful project colour barnevelders.

Yeah, let’s see, maybe his tail is just in an awkward growth stage.
