Thoughts On the Inaugeration

This is a big moment in US history, no matter your political leanings. I had an opportunity to go to the inauguration with my son's school but couldn't pull it off. Although it's going to be crowded and cold, those who stand there will have stories to tell to their kids and their grandkids.

Loved your history lesson! You forgot the 40 acres and the mule.

Here's more history to add to the momentousness of this occasion. At the time of Obama's birth, his parents marriage was illegal in nearly half of all US states. What a change 47 years makes!

Good On Ya! As the Aussies would say. We learn from history and this event is teaching the whole world a great lesson on history. Wrongs can be righted and progress can be made.

I am very excited about tomorrow, I did vote for Hilary first, but after she lost and I did alot of reading and decided OBama was for me. I helped the most I could here. I helped at registrations drives, as well as an observer at the polls on election day to make sure nothing funny went on. Being a white American I often never thought about race and how it can effect ones life. That was until 5 years ago when my lovely grandson was born. His father is african American. That was the first time I had ever felt how bad racism can be. We have came along way in this country, I hope that by the time my grandson is older he will never know the pain of being judged by the color of his skin. We are all born into this world the same way. Special angels choosen by God. Tomorrow will be a great day at our house! I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow, and the next 4 years finds us all in a better place then we are today.

I folded and put away my American flag the day he was elected. I'm wearing a black crepe arm band tommow in mourning. The people of this country have been fed the ultiminate big lie.

I also have a granddaughter whose father is a African American. She has been a huge blessing to us and is a bright light in our lives. I hope that in time more and more people will come to realize the great event that is unfolding before our eyes.

For me, it's not that he's an african american, it's the fact that it's bombarded our TV's, it's on every news cast, it's being blown up to be more than it should be in a time when our economy is in a recession. So for all us tax payers who are supporting this, it's just a slap in the face. But who cares, it's just money!

I dont care if he's black or white or purple...i simply cant stand the man himself!...after hearing some of his remarks he has make about our country! ...

....i wish my tax dollars wernt going to support him!!...

.....sorry...thats my opinion on the Inaugeration....

I don't remember an inauguration ever turning into a big nationwide party before! I think people are grasping for something positive right now. For many, hope is about all there is and if we can't grasp it we are in trouble. Obama is the picture of hope and change. Hopefully he can continue to inspire the country out of recession/depression and war.

My older daughter's private school is going to a community event to watch on the big screen. My younger daughter is homeschooled and we will definitely be watching!
