Do you have a dog or cat kennel? That's what I use and it works GREAT. I'm actually thinking about buying another one as a "tractor". (for spring babies.)

Oh and I don't normally give mash to the chickens. They usually start eating on day 3 like pros.

really? they don't eat for 3 days or so??? Can I feed them the same food as I do the ducks? I feed them gamefeed which is for chickens and ducks

I coud put it in a plastic container and set it in the bath tub and hang a light over it and put the food and water in there. What should I use for bedding?

Perfect. I use an old towel for the first week. So they can get their footing. Then pine shavings.

And like I said, it's just me. Others may do things differently.

I feed chick starter. I don't know anything about the game feed. PM Julie though.
I use Dumor. And the finisher/grower crumbles are actually a little bigger in consistancy than the chick starter. Meaning the starter is easier for them to eat.

I also give mine quaker oats for something to peck at, and it's not as rough. If that makes sense.

Sav a chik in the water, and I have some with poopy butt, so I've added a splash of red cider vinegar.

Chicks aren't as much fun as ducks. IMO. But chickens are sure a lot cleaner!

here is the baby. How do you tell if they are male or female? I don't know much about chickens, Look how small this adorable little baby is. Almost fluffed up.

I hate to buy a big bag of chick starter since I am not going to be keeping it. It will probably leave next week. I just want to keep it for a while to see it grow a little. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Ok then take whatever you have and chop it up better if it's not eating it well. I really don't know anything about the gamefeed. My TSC doesn't have that. Or if you have oatmeal.
But with all those eggs you have some chick starter would work for them too. I could mail you some! LOL!

Oh BTW: Here you can buy a little bag. Like 5 pounds.
