I just went to take a picture of them and check on them. They were laying down when I walked up, and aren't shivering or anything. It's starting to get dark, so I'll bring them in soon and put them back out when I go feed everyone in the morning.

Same here. Although if I name this Ancona according to personality his name will be Dufus. (No offense Chicken Crazy).

Not the smartest duck I've seen, but he's good for laughs.

so i let my momma chicken and her 3 babies out for the first time today.
she's not a good mom lol.
she went to bed with the other chickens leaving the babies cowering outside in the dark.
i had to search all over for them , and the cats showed me where they were huddling.
i had to pick them up and put them in the big chicken house.
hopefully they learn fast.
chickens are not very bright.



and i love my ducky eggs.
the one wiggles all over the place when i candle it.
and the other just barely moves.
i can see their eye (the big dark cicrle)
its getting harder and harder to see in there tho. i need a brighter light.
i feel like they need names. but im scared if i name them. they will die.

QJ, external pip? When Caboose externally pipped at the wrong end, we had to help him hatch as he could not turn to zip.

Now .... I just noticed one of my ducklings (the largest of the group) is tilting his head to the right. A quick search talks about wry neck and a vitamin deficiency?? Anyone know what may be wrong with this guy??
