Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Its nothing but love that makes us want them to die peacefully in their sleep. We only want that for anyone we love, why not our dog family???

You will know, absolutely. When I was there, I had to call a friend and get her to remind me what I knew I needed to do. It was so hard. I love Ki so much, and she was a wonderful dog, friend, and daughter. We are all thinking of you, I'm sure.

Hi Stillmecle- Squishy is a cutie!  Looks interested and spoiled; like hes waiting to have his bill rubbed or something!  How are your other babies doing?  Your the reason I attend this thread anyway... I got caught up in your early hatching dilemia.  By the time Id read how it ended, I was kind of attached to all the kind and thoughtfull people who supported you through it.  (I'm glad you didn't blow off the dentist!)  :)

Our pet ducks are Shadrach, meshack, abednigo, mary, joseph, and elizabeth.  Only the incubaor hatches the girls take part in during the summer get named.  Any bird thats named doesn't get eaten or sold.

Well thank you Marty. All my animals are spoiled. From the dogs, cats, goats, horse, ducks, and specially this cute little chicken, they are al spoiled rotten. You will find that everybody n here is very helpful and knowledgeable. So if you ever have a question, just ask and somebody here will help. Bhy

600 new posts? seriously!? Whats happening now? QJ is your choc. chick choc.? Do you have a pic!?

I got my bator back yesterday, and set eggs today. Lets hope that they are fertile!!!!! :D

So how many baby calls does Julie have?!?!?!?!

UPDATE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Flock Master!!!!! What's up girl?!?!? I can't wait to see if those eggs are fertile!!
My choc ended up being a black. :( She's sweet though.

Whats everyone doing for the hatch along? I'm probobly going to just do quail, since that what I do a lot anyway. Wish I had more turkey eggs, but I'll never have near enough of those.

Anyone selling silky eggs??? I'd like to do some of those, or maybe coachins. I really want them to help out with hatching, if they are thus inclined. When we go on vacation, its better to leave a real chicken in charge, then trust somebody inexperienced with the incubator.

Hows the weather for everyone? We had 2 inches of snow last night.

I've got a dozen Aracauna eggs coming from Ray-N-Debi. I also have 18 various eggs coming from the same lady I got eggs for the NYD hatch. She wants to use me as a guinea pig for a new shipping method, so I told her Great! She's not telling me what she's sending, just said it would be a good mix of pure breeds. Might put in some pheasant eggs if they start laying (or not).

We had snow last night, too, but it all melted by noon. I DO NOT miss shoveling snow!

Well then I hope its a hen! Sorry it was a black QJ :(.

Theres a breeder on here who has a few choc orps. Theres a few choc or breeders on here actually!

OH! and I'm setting a BUNCH of RIR eggs soon :D

I don't shovel snow. Thats DHs job, mostly. I usually just wait for dogs, cats, kids, and man boots to knowck it down a bit!!! Now, If I could just keep the city from packing the entrance to my driveway when they plow, THAT would be a miracle!!

I've thought about pheasant, but I don't have any experience with them at all. I'm totally comfy (after like 35 years now) with hatching most barn fowl. I'm even o.k. with peacock, but I've never hatched a goose egg or a pheasant. They both seem a little intimidating, with all those special needs!!
