Hi QuackerJack. Like I said, this is the first time I've candled this soon. I usually wait until its close to time. Wish I'd waited, I have a better idea when the baby is supposed to be more developed.
It's no big whoop! I just really enjoy candling. I have a weird bond with my eggs. LMAO! I candle ducks at day 4.

Really I'm just trying to learn each stage of development. I lost a bunch of eggs on page 3 of this thread and ever since then, I've been trying to figure out why through trial and error and keeping notes on what I do different etc...

I'm a researcher. My friends call me "the researcher". I research things.

Hi everyone! Hiya Kevin, fancy meeting you here! :) DH has computer, but Im checking in while hes gone a minute. :)

QUESTION:

Many of you candle your eggs a lot, and I ususally only check the week before due date. So, I candled 5 day old turkey eggs, and now I don't know what to think. 5 of 7 appear to have a large dark mass at the top, and 2 lokt thinned out, no blob.

Which is good?? I never do it this early, but I just couldnlt wait!

Now Im frustraited! Please advise!

I would wait tell day 10 and check again. Turkey eggs are not easy to see till they are 7 to 10 days in there I will do some pictures of turkey eggs at day 5 and a few older ones and post them so you can see good from bad.
