Magpies are cute! Hope you win the auction!

SO... I don't think I will be able to keep my goslings and ducklings together. Seems like the goslings enjoy biting the ducklings' feet. And they have a pit bull type bite. One got the end of a piece of kale stalk I was holding and when I raised my hand, I lifted the gosling off of the ground by his grip on the stalk. It can't be fun for the ducklings to get that kind of hold on their feet. Hubby is finishing up another brooder for the ducklings this afternoon.

I'm ebay biddig on some magpie duck eggs! Does anyone have them? They are sooo cute with their black and white bodies. The are another rare heritage breed, and they lay white or green tinted eggs.

I think I'm in love! (Good thing I'm getting another bator!)

Ooo yes, I saw those. But that was right after the hubby lecture. LOL.

Here are the chickens I picked up yesterday. A pair of Ameraucanas and a pair of Wheaten Marans.

They are still young yet 4-5 months old, but I was so excited to find an egg with the Ameraucanas this morning. It's such a beautiful blue egg and I'm gonna hatch any she lays in the next week since she was running with other roosters and the chicks would probably not be related to the blue roo I got since he's not even crowing.

i am 90% finished with the brooder i started last night

i just need to finish the flooring in it! i am using left over laminite tile flooring to make it easier to fully clean, it is 4' x 4' with almost one full wall as chicken wire so the kids can watch chick tv (hehe and me), and a removable divider! and hubby came home from work this afternoon and suprised me by saying we should move the super heavy couch out of the spare room (my incubator room in partly finish basement) so the brooder can go in there and the chicks would have the windows for sun light too!
