Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Good morning, hatching friends.

All of my babies are doing great. Hubby built me another great pen for the new duckies, so each have their own place now. We took duckie for their first swim last night and they loved it. We also took goosies for their 1st swim... but they didn't get it was supposed to be fun.

And I think I'm going to be up to my eyeballs in fertile eggs... I did a 48 hour check on air cells and discovered that 10 of 13 cayuga were detached and the other 3 had wonky cells. So, they are all propped up now. Only the oldest 4 of 15 eggs from the ancona set were detached. Almost all of the eggs were showing a nice fertile glow. I may not be tossing that many on day 7 after all, which means with my new set of eggs, I could easily have over 50 eggs developing in my bators by the end of the week.

That is totally awsome! I've only got 40 in now. (I know, I'm kinda slacking!)

NO! I'm NOT going to be okay. Although, being a stay at home mom, I don't have a lot to get excited about most days... so just give me this moment.

Sucks the little one is sick!! The flu just went rampid this year since it wasn't cold enough to kill germs. Bummer!!

I was a home mom until Julia started kindergarden this year. (Shes the baby) At school (where I work) one entire famiy w/5 kids were all sick today, and about 10 kids (out of 72 in our small schoo) were sick. Makes it easy for me, but its so bad for them.

Hmmm, maybe I should run to orschelns to get some chicken feed.....
No minimum there. They had ancona, khaki, pekin, rouen, and WH ducklings there last year I think. I got my EE girl out of the fryer bin there last year for .50. Luckily for me my kids are sick so I'm stuck home today though.

Hey Marty, wasn't it you that was bidding on the magpie eggs? What is the latest on that?

I started the bid and then Marty started bidding against me without either of us knowing. I told her if she wanted them, she could go for it. If I see that she is losing the bid though, I am jumping back in,
