Hey SM! The goosers are still working. One is closer than the other to externally pipping. Meanwhile I have a Swedish flower hen that hatched. I piped for the other 4 because they were shrink wrapped. (insert huge ***** eye roll here.)

Are they alive?? Pictures on??

Yes, they don't have to have medicated food; Id just keep an eye incase of mischief. The chicken may not be as sweet to your other babies - you might say they can be a real pecker.....

they are flinging the food everywhere and have spilled the water twice.(and its not just a small bowl its a poultry waterer with the screw on jar top type deal)
they stand on the edge and tip it .
the worst this the gese are doing is pooping.
altho the 10 chicks are pooping alot more. lol

I've heard they are less messy. I believe it. How can they possibly be worse? Ducks, even big one, are a mess while geese are so much less messy. Ducks are always dipping their heads, and everything else, into the water.

About the same. They are not quite as messy with the water but they poop A LOT more. And they will chew anything they can reach, so make sure they can't tip over their food, water, etc.

I know the feeling. Heck, I go to the waterfront now and I'm eyeing the Barrow's Goldeneyes wishing a couple would follow me home...

Your getting Magpies?? From the local feedstore?? Wow, I read there are less than 500 mating pairs.

This particular feed store gets birds from local breeders as well as hatcheries

I doubt wild diving ducks are lured with peas like their dabbling friends. I wonder what to lure them with...?

I go see the back surgeon tomorrow to see what the plan is for my surgery and when it will be. Hubby is home all next week too. Please let me have patience to not kill him while he is home.
