Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I've heard they are less messy. I believe it. How can they possibly be worse? Ducks, even big one, are a mess while geese are so much less messy. Ducks are always dipping their heads, and everything else, into the water.

X2 but I swear my ducks are extra messy just to irritate me sometimes

Having turkey BACON BLT's tonight with homemade pickles and pickled peppers on them. Mmmm. If only I still had some pickled radish pods, those are to die for!

I go see the back surgeon tomorrow to see what the plan is for my surgery and when it will be. Hubby is home all next week too. Please let me have patience to not kill him while he is home.

Make him play with the silkies a lot while he's home, or let him see you with them cuddling so you can keep them.

Stock up on feed and don't go back until you have fuzzy butts hatching. 7 more days until Del's gets their ducklings in... and they're getting runners. I'm hatching runners. If something goes bad, I can buy some, but I was going to take "pick of the litter" and then sell the others to a friend.

Friend lost her runners to a predator recently. I'm going to insist on checking out her place before I let duckies go home with her. I'd hate to have spent all this time on sacrificial ducklings.

. I think the consensus is I'm not leaving without any babies

Do they look kinda blue in person, or just a smoke blue??

Just a smoke blue to me, like "blue" cats. Evelle and 70 both have blue swedish, maybe one of them can get a close up picture of theirs. I don't think anyone has lavendar ducks on here. I have a lilac, I think, and she just looks lighter blue to me.
