Not a goose. Only ducks. And only after the pipped themselves and got stuck. Sorry, I wish I knew what to say. I'm at a loss, though.

Same here. I've never seen so much yolk covering a duck like this. Maybe that's normal. But it's breathing definitely isn't right. I think it's an "is what it is" situation.

They are sooooo cute.....

In the end, two went to the farm and two stayed here. The weakest one would have never survived had I left it with the broody, so I kept it a friend. Poor little booger has a hard time staying on it's feet and every time I go look in the brooder, the little one is stuck on its back again. Both legs appear to work right, the feet do what they're supposed to, but the chick is still weak and topples over. I'm calling that one "Flippy" for now. The other one I kept is one of the last two to hatch. The first one was kind of a bully, so that one went to the broody.

That broody pecked the heck out of my hand when I was trying to get the ceramic eggs out from under her. Glad I wore gloves. I thought chickens couldn't see in the dark. I think she woke because the chicks were peeping in the box. All quieted down after I got the chicks under her, so fingers crossed!

Now I have two baby chicks to raise. And I didn't even want chickens! LOL.

Now to wait another week for the duckies. I don't expect to get so lucky with my hatch rate with them. 4 out of 5 is darn good for a beginner! At least I have the chicks to keep me busy and away from the feedstore in the meantime!

This is strange. Im more confused then I am worried. Just wondering why hes doing this

Good evening! It's been a busy day dealing with the hatch and getting the 2 babies to the broody! I was actually disappointed that I was asleep when the first two hatched, but I got to see the second two pop out, so I'm happy! What an amazing day!

Yay!! I had a pretty busy poultry day too. Nothin' like a good staggered hatch. LOL! I ended up with 9 our of 12 javas hatch.. not bad for shipped eggs! Gives me faith in Ebay again.
