Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Time for my morning candling update:
My new ancona eggs, on day 4, have 12 pretty spiders, 2 looking to develop spiders today, and 2 that are unsure.
All 9 ancona eggs on day 9 look good.
Then there are my cayuga eggs on day 9. While I have 4 eggs going strong, I tossed 2 more with blood rings... which leaves 3 last eggs to hold out hope for.
It's too soon to candle my goosies yet, but I have a great feeling about them!

I told hubby I would buy him more cayuga eggs since we are having rotten luck with pidgey's eggs in the bator. He said don't buy any more duck eggs. But then he cast a glance over at our goslings.... and gave me a look. I asked.... are you trying to say you want more goose eggs instead?? He breaks out into an evil grin. I replied... let's see how many eggs develop in the bator before we get more goose eggs.... then he says.... but we don't have any dewlap toulouse eggs and I want a goose like the one in Pete's picture.

Julie, that's a great pic! How did your silkie get to be green?

I used food coloring with a little bit of vinegar to make it stick, same as an easter egg, lol. Did it for st patty's day last year, haven't decided for sure but I probably will again this year. She didn't seem to mind, and maybe it helped her blend in because I haven't lost a silkie to a predator yet, lol.

70!- I keep missing you. :( But little chicken is the cutest duck ever! You need to enter that pic in a contest of some sort.

Hello to EyeHeart and Kevin!

I read everyones posts but can't comment on everything.. so happy hatching, happy egg getting and ... I think that's it.

Remember that lavender chicken I hatched out like 5 million years ago? Well, I had to move it from the teenager pen in with the lemons I hatched, because the other chickens were outgrowing it and I was afraid it would be smooshed in the chicken pile.

Now I just had to move it from the toddler chicken pen down to the new babies that just hatched out 2 days ago because the toddler chickens were outgrowing it, and it's about the same size as these new babies. Just a little bigger. Isn't that weird? It's like it's not growing.

I'm gonna get a pic, but anybody had a chicken that doesn't grow before?
