If you car is rated as written-off by the insurance cmopany can you get it road registered again? Here when a car/truck is written off you can't register it again :(

I agree 100% with Celtic about buying eggs from people with quality birds only. And also about breeding only from good examples of the breed.

QJ, I will have a look for the box update!! :))

I have a line-up on some dewlap eggs.... but it may take a while. The lady I got my last set of ancona eggs replied and said that her pair (Holderread pair, born June, 2011) just started laying but fertility is not good enough to sell yet, but she will email me if/when they do get better fertility results.

I was happy you got them from Pidgey, because I was going to ~ then the cards played out, when I didn't hear back from pidgey & then she told me she was weeks out before she could ship anyways & I found the other seller (cause you all know my time crunch)! So it actually worked out PERFECTLY like a well oiled machine.

They will hatch THEN when mine hatch we will have two seperate lines that we can swap ducks ! I also have a line on 2 other cayuga breeders, that I will eventually incorporate! They also have beautiful birds!

I just hope to get at least a few that hatch or I will cry

Yes everyone should buy what they like, but if they ask an Oppinion on birds or want to have the best possible bird for a particular price range then there are plenty of flocks out there to be avoided. Lots of crappy feathered Sebbies out there that are fine pets. Pets don't represent the breed though, nor should they be bred together and eggs sold for such a high premium just because they are a Sebastopol

Same goes for all breeds. Why would you buy inferior examples of a bird if you could get a quality bird instead? Culls are a fact of life in breeding, just because a bird is a cull doesn't make it a bad pet. Someone shouldn't build a breeding flock around inferior or cull birds though. This just continues the down grade of the breed. If you want a breeding flock of anything, you invest in quality to produce eggs and off spring to sell.

It would be like becoming a back yard puppy mill for birds. Getting the latest hot bird no matter what the quality and breeding to make $ and not to improve the breed and produce good to great off spring.

I too am hoping my 4 pidgey eggs will hatch!!! It is probably just horrible luck with my eggs, but it is a bit odd to hear about the blood rings with others, since both sets of mine have had that issue. Then again, I'm still a newbie at hatching and Jaz is a super-pro. I'm sure you will have much better luck than me!!!
