Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Thanks Utah & QJ. I don't know if I could fit a hygrometer in there. Do they make really small ones? I just have a little Brinsea Mini Advance.

My air cells aren't moving around and they are all at the largest end of the egg. Maybe they are OK.

Christine- You need a hygrometer in there to measure the humidity. Are the air cells moving around? Like... float bubbles?

HI

While I was cooking for all the kids this moring, I was thinking about the eggs.

Psue - I'm glad your babies got here. Nice selection.

Jaz - Love the cut feather foot. He looks nice allready!

HI Iain, Julie, and QJ!

I'm all caught up, finally. My Chocolate Turkeys go on LOCKDOWN TODAY! At 8:30 to be specific. 3 look hatchable, 1 is questionable.

My new incubator isn't here yet. I wish It would get here!

So I went to give the babies their morning treat.. and noticed one gosling kept trying to crawl into my hand when tossing lettuce out. I said to hubby, hm.... there's a gosling that keeps trying to get me to pick it up. I wonder if you have anything to do with this? He gives me a sheepish grin and says, yeah, I had him in my lap watching tv last night after you went to sleep.

Busted!

Thanks GF. I'm a little bitter in how this went down. Feeling a little used right now.

And I won't mention I have to get all those babies in the car to take my 8 yr old to school. Not even gonna mention that part.

Ok, Personal Rant Over! Sorry you all had to witness that. Carry on, carry on.

Teach your littlest one to bite. Her sisters might not be that happy about it, but it'll save you, lol. I didn't mind babysitting older ones so my oldest has someone to play with, but babies or toddlers? I have enough of my own thank you.
I have to share a pic I took this morning of Squeak and Twist. They are in a serious nappy stage, but the green in Squeak's face is so cool... and he is getting blue and burgundy colors in his wings. I love these two!! They are so friendly and pet-able!!

Very pretty. I wasn't that big a fan of black ducks, but my oldest duckling is black and I am loving all that shine. I can't wait to see her playing in the water in the sun.
i got the biggest call duck egg that i have gotten so far today .

darnit idk how well u can see a difference?
the egg on the right is alot bigger.
idk if another hen started layin or what

oh and riley loves his babies!

Love the pics. I need to give my babies a bath, they are muddy from playing in the dirt. How big are your call eggs? The ones I hatched before were about the size of/slightly bigger than a silkie or cochin egg. The ones from celtic are teeny. They scare me, lol.

Ok thank to you both for that info. You both have been refunded for the broken egg in your boxes.

You didn't need to do that. You packed them wonderfully. I still can't even find the crack, lol. I'm waiting until tonight and trying to candle in the dark in peace when the kids are asleep. I want to seal it and set it anyway, just need to find where.

Saxony #1 is almost out! I'm so excited. I need one out to encourage the others.
Yay! Can't wait to see what a saxony duckling looks like.

duckies are doing good, quieter then I thought they would be. Gunner(the Olde English Bulldogge pup) wants to watch all the time but he's not a year old yet and still REALLY clumsy so only allowed with supervision, lol

the goosey looks like it's shrugging it's shoulders agains the aircell

Gunner watching Duckies

everyone fed and watered outside... Mom got her first silkie egg today. Only have to go back out if it starts storming.... mom is gone and her dog is afraid on thunder and lightning.

Love it. Is he good with the birds outside too? I wish my little mutt was.

That sound is such sweet music!

Isn't it? I finally have a full incubator, I'm hoping I have lots of music the next month.
