I have a question .... Squishy is talking BUT hasn't made ANY progress..... still looks like it did almost 6 hours ago....
I can see bill and here peeps but it's not hitting the shell with any force. What's up???????

I just lost a duck a few hours ago during zip. I saw the beak for a while and then it started to zip and kept turning without zipping. Then ended up being on the other side of the egg trying to break out of it and couldn't and drowned in the fluids in the shell.

I wished I would have helped it but thought it was doing fine. I could hear it and see it breathing, it all happened fast. I was watching the whole time it happened and acted quickly to try to help it out. But it was too late.

Can i please ask if you incubated the eggs or if the mother was left with them. I have a mum sitting for the last week and am not sure if i should seperate her from the others when it gets closer to hatching time

I've done both. I've also left the broody with everyone and seperated. Seperated worked better, just because the babies seemed to like finding waterers and other things to off themselves in.

Help!!! I have vent checked and vent check this WH and I can not find a PEE PEE. But I am told looking at the head that it is a drake. What do ypu thnk? I want to sell this bird todah so I need to know what is it......................................

No quacking, and I think the reddish breast means libby is a boy. He's marked a lot more like a boy wh than a girl.

Oh oh oh, can I get some goat hatching eggs? (sign of a true hatching junkie there)

wouldn't it be so cool to be able to set and hatch anything? Hhmmmm

If you find some hook me up, lol. Wonder what kind of incubator works best for that.

i have external pips under my broody.
i believe both eggs have ext pip. but i know one does 4 sure.
i had to check when i got home!!!

Hello everyoe else. Got my ucky bator cleaned, and my poor no hatch quail eggs tosed, and the turkeys.

2 turkeys were formed, yolks mostly absorbed, no pip internally far as I could tell. Only one quail egg even had a mosty formed fetus. I'll never use that seller again. I think my didgetal thermometer was wacko, next to a tested standard thermomter it was 1.7 degrees off. Enough to screw up a hatch, oh and one quail egg blew up. double gross.

Its raining here, so wanted to write in color. And, the eggs kinda made me blue

SM - let us know how your eggs go I'm weighing my toulouse eggs tonight, and setting them and more turkey eggs.

Two questions that I hope you guys can answer.

1. Can a female duck show first voice changes at 5 weeks? I have a cayuga that I thought was a boy, but in the past few days, he has been getting louder and more of a whistle sound instead of the raspy sound of the other 2 boys.

2. Anyone ever have a developing embryo stuck to side of shell? Will it hatch ok? I have a cayuga on day 15 that I think is alive, but stuck on side.

well only 1 egg is internally pipped.
but i checked on the hen again and i can hear the baby peeping at me.
at dark i will go out again and check on the egg that is not pipped and see if the other baby has made progress.

grandpas geese are layn finally . got 3 eggs today
that i am going to use for crafts bcuz they were extremly dirty and its early in their season.
next time i get eggs i will maybe put 3 of them in the bator. (devil horns)

Hey guys. Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday afternoon. The weather here is wonderful, so I took our goslings outside for their first time. They did not seem to like it, unless I was inside the pen with them. Ah well, maybe they are still too young at 16 days old.
