Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Good morning, hatching friends! I feel like a million bucks after sleeping for over 9 hours last night! Man, I needed that! Assisted hatching is stressful and draining, but so worth it!! Here are my new babies after 24 hours. I swear these guys (and my last set of ducklings) have a different level of imprinting with me since I hatched them all out by hand. I love them all so much!!

I re-checked all my remaining eggs this morning. All 5 cayugas and one lonely toulouse egg are going strong on day 19; my 3 precious dewlaps are doing great on day 16, and I am seeing very good fertility on day 4 in both sets of new eggs (saxony & silver apple).... however, nothing is developing in the last 2 toulouse eggs, which is ironic because I would not have bought the sax and sa eggs if I knew that both toulouse eggs would be duds.

How's everyone else's eggs cooking??

got 21 barnyard mix chickens due the 10-12 staggered them a bit so grandkids can see some hatch ( I"m outta my mind) 6 tolouse/roman due the 23rd and 10 (he's crazy

) Embden due on the 30th..... then closing the bator till next year unless we get some SA eggs

Hey everyone! I have been a busy lady. I wish I could go back and read all posts from the last couple days but man, it would take me a week. LOL
I candled my 2 dozen red/roux dilute quail eggs from thequaillady and only 8 were viable. Pshh....Go figure. They are due to hatch the end of next week. I have had the worst luck with her eggs. I also just set 1 dozen Ancona eggs from Boondocker lines yesterday. Yay!

My 4 fertile quail eggs made it. 3 english whites and a rosetta tux.

And I picked up my Anconas!!! This was just after a swim. They are so cute.

all adorable

Afternoon all.

Dutch will be going to the PO around 2 and they will catch a truck around 3:30 so plan to hear from me between 2-2:30

Hubby is home, has 30 days of quarters (basically ordered home for rest).

Next two Sebbies in the hatcher, just waiting to start the hatching.

Excellent news about your hubby getting to stay home for 30 days!!

My hubby would drive me nutty if he was home for 30 days. LOL. He's a go go go guy. Can't sit still!

Utah: What's up with you? Are you all done with hatching? Love the pics of the babies.

Dutch, unless you are a long ways from a major Airport PO hub be prepared for tomorrow. Many of my boxes when shipping lives arrive the next day. They go express, and we are 30 minutes from the airport they leave through. Oh speaking of, need to go thaw their peas.

QJ, I have 2 hatches next week (5 cayuga on Tues night/Wed., 1 toulouse on Friday night/Sat.) and then my dewlaps the following Monday!!

How about you? How's your sebbie doing? When's your next hatch date?

Well....I'm about 30-40 minutes from Tulsa International....but I think the truck that comes out to my itty bitty PO leaves early morning and only makes one trip out here. My little town doesn't even have a stop light, lol. I hope to hear from them tomorrow, but I'm thinking they'll stay the night in Tulsa and be out here Wednesday at 7am. That's the typical time table I've experienced with both chicks coming from as close as Texas, and adults from the far corners of the country.
