Celtic is making me a video this weekend on how to vent sex goslings as she insists I must learn how to do this with my goslings. Maybe I'll get brave enough to try ducks. Since my cayugas are already 9 weeks old, I doubt I would attempt vent sexing them though. When do they get drake feathers again??

All of the above! I vent sexed Beaker and she was girl ... that worked out for me. Then I vent sexed Bunsen and he was a girl.. that didn't work out.. same with Little Eddie.

Shoot, I have no idea. I can't remember what I said five minutes ago.

I learned how to vent sex when someone came ot buy ducklings and her young son knew how. Made me feel dumb about not knowing how.

So I candled my eggs and I think I've got a couple that are quitters. But I don't trust myself, so I leave them in.

My eggs that lockdown on Saturday are getting near impossible to see in, so either I've got a bunch of stink bombs or my fuzzy butts are getting impatient with being in the eggs. I always second guess myself.

Then hubby comes up and tells me I'm supposed to candle from the pointy end. That's never worked for me. Anyone?

Shipped eggs that look sloshy = stink bombs, right? They started, but I think they're dead.

I hate throwing eggs out. Whatever shall I do (other than fetching dinner for hubby)?

Our smoked Muscovy is not quite done yet and hubby has asserted that they've shrunk, so off to fetch something!

Hey Marty!

Been busy trying to get everything all ready for spring/summer. With this weird weather I think it'll be a hot/buggy one so want everything done asap.

I agree we got WAY to nice of a winter and after such a wacky summer last year I dont see an end of weirdness in sight. But I figure next winter will be a doosy

Hm...all of their heads looks almost identical. Hard to get colors as the sun has set here. Will take pics tomorrow. But I did take a 1.5 minute video of them. The loudmouth on the right is Twist. The other extra friendly one who pecks the camera is Squeak. He/she is not being as loud as he/she was on the phone with Celtic earlier, and when I replay the video of him/her now... it sounds like a boy again to me????
