Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Julie do you want a 6 day old embden to play with your ducks

I'm not keeping these ducklings, so I won't have anyone for it to play with soon either.

QJ - Did you get your eggs from PR yet? Oh and I can not beleive you didn't come home with more than just that pair from jacobs cave. Wish I could have gone

I just got them.. Getting ready to open them!

We had a full moon this week don't forget, it does effect hatches.

Yes..agreed!

Well off to auction ! See what I sell & see what I buy hmmmm

Oooo.. Let us know.

we are setting a mirror and a radio out with her then along with a stuffed animal

I was just getting ready to suggest both of those. I had to do this with Fiona.

Ok.. I've got one duck hatched. 3 others pipped. One turkey out on it's own and one more pipped. One other hasn't pipped yet.. hmmmm...

What else... got my PR eggs.. I'll open them right now and see what I got. Ya'll wait here...

Ok.. 6 eggs, all white, no extras, wrapped in an egg carton cut in half.. (??)

Great news about the eggs, QJ! They better be perfect!

My last two cayugas have gotten into gear with turning. Interesting observation: the order in which they are farthest along directly correlates to the freshness of the eggs. The 2 that are moved into hatcher are dated 3/12 and the one that is the furthest behind is dated 3/8.

Awesome news about the babies hatching, QJ!!

Oddly, my blue eggs hatched colors and my white eggs hatched b/w with Aurora Springs. But, my Thistle Down eggs were all white and I hatched 50/50 color and b/w. Are the air cells intact??

That's very interesting!

Yeah.... I realized she collected it that morning (in Florida), put it straight into a box... and then went straight to the post office. They were set in my bator not much more than 48 hours after laying. I don't think they ever got cooled down.

That would be an interesting thing to test using your own eggs... (someday).
Actually I was just thinking.. These last Sebbies I got, she marked the dates on them. I remember one was 3/10, 3/12 and 3/16. I need to check the dates on the 2 in there again and see which one didn't grow. It was a blood ring.

In fact, I'll do that now.. you wait here.

Ok, It was 3/12 that didn't make it. So the one on 3/16 which was laid in the morning and sent out at noon same day is growing.. AND the one that was laid almost 7 days before that.

They may not mean anything.. lol. I need more eggs to test the theory. 3/10 could be just luck.
