Hi everyone!
I made it back safely from my trip. Unfortunately while was gone my husband's favorite duckling drowned
hit.gif
. Somehow it jumped into the kiddie pool and either couldn't get out or it was pushed under by a bigger duck

. My DH was kind enough to not tell me during my trip so I could enjoy my vacation.

On a lighter note my chickens left me an Easter egg hunt.

2 internal pips under black hen. Will candle the red hen at dark.
Ive made up my mind. Babies are coming in at external pip so i can keep a closer eye on them

And flippy is almost gone hes barely holding on. He will pass soon

I'm sorry about Flippy :-(

So, I guess you have your incubator all set up inside for the eggs? Maybe you could leave a few non-hatching eggs under the hens so that they stay sitting. Then, if you want to, you can put the ducklings (I'm assuming they're ducklings) back under the hens when they hatch.

Hello everyone! I posted several hundred posts back when I was trying to hatch some ancona eggs. They had all died after internally pipping. Well, I'm at that stage again. Lockdown is tomorrow. I have 4 runners and 4 anconas. This time I put them in my homemade incubator and hand-turned them. Steady temp of 100 and humidity around 50%. I kicked the humidity up a couple days early to hatch out a couple chicks, but it's down to about 60% now. Everyone cross your fingers for me!!!!

70 yes i have duck eggs in due the 25 th so its up and running

And its easier to brood them inside i just had 12 babies hatch sunday so these babies can be added to them as they get their feet..
Lol
Its too chilly for the hens to be outside with babies
But i wish one of the hens would have accepted the others.

But it was a good idea lol =)

I candled last night and the one's growing at the top of the egg had quit, so I'm down to 7. Those 7 are looking great though. Tomorrow they'll have been in for 2 weeks, so over halfway done cooking. Quail started laying again too, so I added half a dozen of those in.
