Sorry to hear about that. Better luck next time!
Good hatch rate for quail I think.

Congrats! At least she's doing the incubating for you, and you get to just have fun with the baby.

Oh..Utah...sorry I missed the other question. I haven't put Uno in with the new babies yet. I'm giving them time to get their feet under them first. I still have 4 silkies in the dryer that are working on coordination. I'll put him in with them tomorrow afternoon.

Daddy took the 2 older kids fishing all day today. This is the 2 year old when she came home.

Oh, I just hate it when that happens!!! I hatch a lot, but just 6 weeks ago I cooked my full bator of muscoveys and turkeys. I was completely bummed. I'd hatched 2 pheasents the night before, but everything else (due w/i 3 days) was dead. It made me feel like giving up, but since then I've had a great Khaki hatch, a pretty good goose hatch (7 of 11), and a smattering of other things from a handfull of eggs. If your using an LG, which seem prone to these problems, go read the LG hints and tips thread, but its info is very useful for dealing with spikes. I myself have added in a couple of long ballons full of water to keep temps even, and its been perfect ever since. Please don't give up! Every experience makes you better, but they don't always feel very good (but others feel AWESOME).

GoingQuackers - Sorry about the low dough day. Better luck tomarrow!
It wasn't the money that was the real issue. It was the stress and the time spent dealing with and waiting on flakes. I wasted more than half of my day and as a result got nothing done.

well one more shrink wrapped quail and we'll have all we're gonna get outta this batch... appox 52 out of the 79 that went into lock down.... not bad for the first try

Thanks guys...My daughter is 22, so it's to be expected at this age I guess, lol. My son is 15, so hopefully he'll hold off for awhile! My issue with the situation is that she and her husband got divorced back in December, then a few months ago they started going back and forth with trying to work things out. They didn't need this right now. The real kicker? They were told a couple years ago that there were fertility issues with each of them, and that getting pregnant was going to be hard, without help. Go figure!
And then, she lives in Florida, and I'm in Oklahoma....I won't be able to see my grandchild much!!! My emotions are all over the place right now.
