My friend has turkeys and one of them bit me on the butt because she wanted attention. Didn't hurt me. I spent the next hour chatting and petting a turkey.

I don't think I'd be able to raise turkeys. I've heard they're mean, but from my experience, the hens are so darn sweet. How could I ever eat one once I got to know it?
I've never heard of a bird biting for attention before! There much smarter than people give them credit for! If they end up behaving like they did the first few days I don't know how people could either! There like feathered puppies

$20 a fair price for 3 ducks? All three have been attacked my my moms dog, and have no pen to keep them safe. The one I have is cooped up already... 4 ducks :(

Its a breeding trio of rouen ducks, the 2 hens are not laying, and all 3 have no back feathers do to the dog... well... plucking them :(.. and I put ALOT of money into these for... way more then $20... more like $70 for all 3. but thats to much, and I need homes soon...

Goin, sorry, but I can't send you the rouen eggs. I will send you a couple more WH eggs instead if you want.

Not upset about the eggs, but sad about your poor babies! $20 for three grown ducks is a steal where I live!

. Glad you've met some friends from craigslist! It's refreshing to meet some good people. And you shouldn't feel bad at all! I even missed demon guinea this morning and that evil bird doesn't deserve a bit of sympathy

Good Luck with the buyer!

Thanks GQ. I keep telling myself I'm gonna stop rescuing but always end up rescuing again. At least he had a happy life for the short time he was with me.
You won't stop....and you know that. I'm the same way. There are always going to be animals that need us.

My sweet turkeys have turned on me
th.gif
. They're becoming quite aggressive. I think I'm gonna enforce my no aggressive bird policy again.
They totally do that. They are sweet and sensitive, and then the early stages of puberty set it, and suddenly you have sullen teenagers. Hmm.... Seriously, you can't keep large birds without expecting a bit more wild to come out. Peacocks and turkeys, don't trust either. (I think you can maybe add guinea fowl to this list) Our one turkey is sweet, but she's stuck with chickens, and what is there to do but be sweet? I lock down several bourben reds on tuesday.

I'm not surprised. They are also very intelligent and curious birds.

Its hard to eat buddies, so name them sunday supper, and be sweet anyway. I'd rather love mine up until they day they are taken for a meal, that feel like they had a crappy life and then got murdered. I just love them anyway, and make it extremely quick and as painless as possible. You'll never look back an regret a kindness, after all.

I know! I'm not used to actual peace and quiet in the backyard
