oh my .
Darn it! Geese rock! Bet your hubby would change his mind once you hatched a few adorable babies.
Wow! 2.5 hours? That's dedication to keeping up with us byc buddies.![]()
Butters is doing very, very well. I think he might have an infection in one eye, but a drop or two of Gentak should fix that. I decided to put the silkie that is wearing taped shoes in with him....Butters was scared to death at first. He's only known me, lol. He's getting used to him now. It looks like the tape has come off of one foot, but it looks cured. Amazing how 24 hrs of tape can fix fisted feet. I'm thinking I'll be able to put Butters in with the group tomorrow.
Have 3 Call eggs due in two days, currently under a broody. Then 5 days from now 2 more under another broody.
I checked my scrambled silkie eggs in the bator, and out of 30 eggs I at least have 22 growing. I seem to have this air cell stabilization thing down pretty good, lol. Chicken eggs are soooo much easier than Call eggs!
very cute
you are lucky, i had 3 explode in one day, luckily they were not in the nest or a bator! butHmmm. I might just go for it. Not that I need any more eggs!
Dodged a bullet tonight. Had to candle an entire incubator full of eggs to find the stinky one. Stink bomb disposal unit did their (my) job.![]()
Uh-oh. Not the talk.![]()
I've done 2.5 of reading on here, but I doubt I'd be able to do a multi-post that spans two days! I'm impressed.
I concur about the taped shoes. I was incredibly impressed how quickly my duckling improved and shucked the shoe!
Is that the ugly duckling? It's freakin' adorable!
I have someone driving 128 milessss. to but 1 duckling.
she is coming to get my 8 week old black bibbed (hershey)
i guess she had 2 BEI ducklings and something happened to 1. so she needs a friend for him.
shes going to spend 4Xs as muhc is gas as shes about to pay for a duckling
Ok...so I caved and checked the 3 eggs under the broody...all 3 have internally pipped and are all over in the eggs and chirping. We are very dry outside, extremely low humidity right now, so I brought them in. Made tiny holes in the tops of the eggs, and monitoring them now. 3 more Call babies coming!! Woohoo!
poor silkieOk..so I took the other 2 Call eggs from the silkie and gave them to the Call girls....they were happy, lol.
i have a peeping bator =D
sounds cool! andNext year I will have lots of silkies and sizzles to do the job for meGoing to make cubby holes in my chicken coop for just that reason....snake proof ones!![]()
I do too!![]()
everyone is still scared of mama chickendutch.
i took my hens eggs just so i didnt have to deal with her again.
she was horrible.
hissing and bitting me .
i wasnt dealing with that again.
3 int pipped . 1 doing nothing.
Mama chicken sat on an empty nest for 2 weeks before i finally gave in and took her for realMy call hen is now broody on a empty nest. Looks like I'll need to find her some eggs or babies![]()
I GOT MY FIRST CAYUGA DUCK EGG TODAY !!!![]()
Want to fill my bator with some Duck, Chicken , Goose, & Guinea eggs, (also some silkie)! What do ya all have for me to hatch ???
I am really pleased that we got a 2nd 50'x50' yard fenced off today for Barley & company.![]()
As it is bigger than our other side yard, we tried again to blend the toulouse babies with Barley & company. Barley was miserable and the ducks were not being very smart about getting out of the way of the older geese, and I was concerned for their safety. So, once again they are separated. Then I tried introducing Barley to my 10 day old grey dewlaps. Silly Barley was scared of them and wanted nothing to do with them either. I swear Barley is the biggest baby!!
What do you think of these ?? They are endangered I guess too
