Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

ChristineR - I'm sorry you lost your baby dog. And two in a year, well, my heart goes out to you.

I've been trying to catch up. I don't have any appointments today, but I've got to go buy bird and people food. Everyone got a little this morning, since I forgot to go yesterday.

I'm very sorry I havn't been on so much. It seems like I've spent a lot less time being social in general, this last month. I suppose its all just part of it, but I hope you don't feel neglected, all my hatching fiends.

I haven't been on much either. Stress, and other such things going on here, as well. Glad you are hanging in there.

What kind do you want?
And Jaz....I promised pics last time and came through, now didn't I?

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. These furry (and feathered) friends worm their way into your heart. So hard to let them go.

. Yep I'm basically bald for the moment. Perk of tall, having no boobs, and bald? No one dares to cut in front of you in the grocery line

. Plus instead of like 2 hours of hair styling I'm done it like 3 minutes. Plus all the money I'm saving on hair products I'm sooo going on a Poultry Shopping spree

At least you're looking on the bright side of things!!!

. This thread really helps keep the moral up!

Hey Marty, it is a busy time of year even without the extra stuff piled on you with your dad passing. We understand, but still miss you!!

Are you getting time in to play with your gosling crew? I thought about you yesterday taking pics of Chicory (Erin Toulouse) with the other pair of Toulouse (she's with them now instead of Barley). She's bigger than the pair although she is 2 weeks younger.

We are setting up temp pens in front yard to get the indoor babies outside for longer stretches. I think we will be able to merge Diva with Barley buff trio this weekend and then set up a 3rd area for the Grey dewlaps adjoining the buffs pen & yard. I'd put the Grey's in with the buffs, except I will not risk putting Spirit in with anyone older or bigger. She cannot handle the initial pecking order process with her gimpy feet, but gets along fine with her hatch-mates.
Yes, I take them out of the mobile coop for a wide circle around the yard for exercise and extra green variety. I had them out tonight, and wished I had my phone (for the camera) to take pics. Its so cute, the Toulouse fluffy butts. They are just really getting those big fat hang downs under them, and they look like really wide boats.

Sweet Luna is lovely in her gray feathers as they peek out. The buffs are all coming on nice and yellow/brown. I just pop the tiny sebbie, Samantha, in with them, and she follows and squeaks like a champ. Since the weather is warming up nice, we'll be making her and stormy (the small male gray dewlap - Samantha's buddy) a nice outdoor coop as well. Goslings just seem to grow faster on plentiful grass. I'm pretty sure were gonna put gray Luna and gray Stormy (dewlap) togather next year, as a pair. Since they are both toulouse and gray, it seems ideal, although we will likely eat most offspring. We'll keep them though. Shes my buddy, and he's DHs only goose.
